Kalamata Black Olive Tapenade Paste is made with kalamata olives, extra virgin olive oil, and some herbs and garlic from the Provence region of Crete Greece. Despite it often being translated as an olive spread, the name actually comes from another ingredient - "tapenas" is the Provençal word for capers.
